DISTRIBUTION:

Nyceryx alophus ixion flies in Bolivia, the specimen type locality, and in
Paraguay: Canindeyu, Alto Parana, Cordillera, Paraguari, Guaira, Caaguazu, Caazapa, and probably Itapua. I suspect it also flies in Argentina.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.
