DISTRIBUTION:

Manduca afflicta afflicta flies in Cuba (specimen type locality).

This is the same specimen as that depicted above. The green cast, typical of this moth, is much more evident in this image.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Manduca afflicta afflicta adults fly

ECLOSION:

Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Adults take nectar from flowers.

EGGS, LARVAE, PUPAE:

Larva have been reported on Cestrum diurnum.
